Data-driven Humanitarian Response: Harnessing Data for Social Inclusion and Accountability
This session will explore two key tools - the CogniCity Open Source Software and the Humanitarian Disability Needs Estimation Tool - and how they can both enhance data-driven decision-making and response efforts in crisis situations.
CogniCity Open Source Software is a versatile platform designed for collecting and managing crowdsourced data during disasters, while the Humanitarian Disability Needs Estimation Tool focuses on assessing and addressing the specific needs of individuals with disabilities and other at-risk populations in humanitarian settings. Through this learning lab, we will explore how these tools can be effectively leveraged to improve the inclusivity, responsiveness, and efficiency of humanitarian interventions.
Key topics to be covered include:
- Review key issues and barriers to identifying highly-at risk groups in the early stage of humanitarian response and ensuring community access to data.
- Introduce and Demonstrate Key Tools: Familiarize participants with the functionalities and benefits of the CogniCity OSS and HDNEST disability screening tool.
- Hands-On Experience and Collaborative Learning: Provide practical experience using these tools, fostering collaboration and discussion on their application in real-world scenarios.
Join us for an engaging session that highlights the power of data-driven approaches in addressing the diverse needs of various individuals, including those living with disabilities, in crisis situations, and explores innovative tools for a more effective and inclusive humanitarian response effort.
