The Philippine Pavillion

The Philippine Pavilion at the 2024 Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) presents a valuable opportunity for the Philippines, as the host country, to foster connections and inspire collaboration across all sectors.

The Pavilion highlights collaborative projects by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Design Center of the Philippines (DCP), and other agencies including Department of Agriculture (DA), Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), and the Department of Science and Technology's Philippine Textile Research Institute. Meanwhile, previous initiatives such as National Arts and Crafts Fair supported by Senator Loren Legarda, Likha III supported by First Lady Ms. Lisa Araneta Marcos, and the “ICONOGRAPH” Exhibition of Women Icons of APEC, among others have demonstrated the role of cultural heritage and innovation in building community resilience.

In parallel, the Pavilion also aims to advance disaster risk reduction (DRR) and resilience efforts by showcasing the country’s good practices, cultural diversity, and innovative approaches. Featuring 13 Partner Hosted Events throughout the Conference at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Secretariat Building's Banquet Halls, it represents a joint effort between national and local governments, private sector,
civil society, academia, and development partners.

Two vice chairs of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)—the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)—will have exhibit booths, along with the APMCDRR vice chairs—the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The Philippine Pavilion Activities include:
- Demonstrations on local knowledge, skills, and cultural practices;
- Collaborative discussions with key stakeholders; and
- Showcases of good practices and initiatives for local DRR-initiatives.
