Be Prepared for a Mega Earthquake: The Role of the Public-Private Partnerships on Science and Technology Against Seismic Disasters
In an era of increasing seismic activity and environmental unpredictability, the importance of resilience cannot be overstated. While government agencies have traditionally taken the lead and will continue to be responsible for disaster preparedness and resilience, the active involvement of the private sector in the development of cutting-edge technologies and effective public-private partnerships (PPPs) has become essential.
By fostering dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, this panel discussion aims to catalyze actionable insights and partnerships to enhance resilience against seismic events. Through shared knowledge and collective action, participants will contribute to building more resilient communities.
Against this backdrop, this panel discussion serves as a platform for stakeholders to exchange experiences and best practices. Participants will explore how private sector investments in seismometer standards and innovative technologies contribute to early warning systems and disaster resilience. Moreover, the discussion will shed light on the collaborative opportunities and challenges inherent in PPPs aimed at bolstering community resilience.
