The urgency for inclusive and data-driven disaster risk reduction (DRR) has never been more pressing amid escalating disaster risks exacerbated by climate change.

This special event aims at reflecting on the advancements and way forward of the roll-out of the EW4All initiative in Asia-Pacific with governments and intergovernmental organizations.

The Asia-Pacific Resilient Recovery Dialogue aims to strengthen readiness for resilient recovery in the Asia-Pacific region and develop pathways to put the Build Back Better agenda and the Sendai Framework back on track.

The session aims to identify solutions that address challenges related to the governance and financing issues for resilient infrastructure in the region and provides examples of good practices for future-proofing infrastructure.

Since its launch in 2015, the CREWS initiative has been in the frontline in addressing the gap in early warning systems in LDCs and SIDS.

The session highlights the impact of climate change in Asia-Pacific, which is only expected to grow with increasing intensity and complexity.

Building on the four previous World Tsunami Museum Conferences, the Fifth World Tsunami Museum Conference (WTMC5) will be held within APMCDRR with the focus on “Empowering the Next Generation - Roles of Disaster Museums for a Resilient Future”.

The Government of Fiji through its National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), in partnership with PIFS and SPC, will host a Pacific Minister Talanoa during the APMCDR.
